Every Tilewright installation is covered by a 10-year workmanship guarantee, and that guarantee is insurance-backed. Those two words matter more than most of the promises you’ll read on tradespeople’s websites, so here is exactly what they mean.
Our 10-Year Workmanship Guarantee
What insurance-backed means
Most guarantees are only as strong as the firm behind them; if the business folds, the paper is worth nothing. Ours is underwritten by an independent insurance policy. Tilewright is a trading name used by a group of independent, time-served tiling specialists, and the insurance backing means your cover stands on its own, whatever happens to any individual tiler over the next decade.
What the guarantee covers
It covers the workmanship: faults caused by how the job was done. That includes:
What it doesn’t cover
We’d rather be straight with you now than argue later. The guarantee doesn’t cover accidental damage, cracks caused by structural movement in the building, damage from harsh or acidic cleaning products, or silicone sealant, which is a maintenance item in any bathroom and will need renewing periodically. Tiles and materials themselves are covered by their manufacturers’ warranties rather than by us.
Alongside the guarantee
Every Tilewright tiler is fully insured, and we’re members of The Tile Association, working to its standards and code of practice. Payment is on a deposit-and-balance basis; we never ask for full payment up front, so the balance is only due when the work is finished and you’re happy with it.
If something’s not right
Use our Request Service Call page or email [email protected] with your details and a description of the problem, and we’ll arrange a visit. Putting the rare fault right properly is exactly what the guarantee is for.
Questions tilers actually get
How is the guarantee different from a product warranty?▾
A product warranty from the manufacturer covers the tiles and materials themselves. Our guarantee covers the workmanship: the preparation, fixing, tanking and grouting our tilers carried out. Between the two, the whole installation is accounted for.
What should I do if I notice a problem?▾
Get in touch as soon as you spot it, via our Request Service Call page or by email. Small issues are quicker to put right than ones left to develop.
