Careers
We welcome enquiries from experienced, time-served tilers and from apprentices who want to learn the trade properly.
Join a group that takes tiling seriously
Tilewright is a collective of independent, time-served tiling specialists, and we are always glad to hear from people who care about the trade. There are two ways in.
Experienced tilers
If you are a time-served tiler with your own tools, transport and a portfolio you are proud of, working under the Tilewright name lets you keep your independence while gaining steady enquiries, a trusted brand and the company of craftsmen who talk shop properly.
We are selective, because every member’s work carries a 10-year insurance-backed workmanship guarantee and the group’s 4.9 rating on Google. Expect us to take up references and look closely at recent jobs. We will want to see clean setting out, sound preparation, tidy silicone work and tanking done properly in wet areas: the fundamentals that separate a tiler from someone who owns a tile cutter.
Apprentices
Good tilers are made slowly, and the trade needs more of them. If you are starting out, we can place you alongside an established member to learn the job from the substrate up: preparation, levelling, setting out, cutting, fixing and finishing. What we look for is not experience but patience, care and a willingness to sweep the floor without being asked.
How to apply
Email [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself. Experienced tilers, please include photos of recent work and where you are based. Apprentices, tell us why tiling appeals and what you are doing at the moment. We read everything and reply to everyone.
There is no head office to commute to and no clocking in. This is a network of skilled people who back each other’s work, and if that sounds like your kind of trade, we would like to hear from you.
Do I need my own tools and transport?▾
Experienced tilers, yes. Members work as independent sole traders, so you will need your own kit and a way of getting to jobs. Apprentices are not expected to arrive fully equipped, and we will advise on what to buy first.
I am partway through my training. Can I still apply?▾
Yes. Email [email protected] and tell us how far you have got. Improvers are welcome, and being placed alongside an established specialist is a good way to finish your training properly.
